2004 LS 430 Nav/AC/Radio not working

My Nav screen starting blinking and ac/radio did not work...the dealer says $1600 to replace the NAV.
I've seen older posts about cheaper options...Anyone recently have this problem and have it fixed ?

A buddy of mine just got a new oem unit for 1100.00 shopping around on the web at lexus dealers. Local dealer wanted 2k to replace.

I'm going to remove the NAV unit and send to one of the 2 or 3 places (see other posts) that repairs them for $200 - $400.
I Just can't pay +$1000 for a refurbished part.

My Nav and climate control buttons are starting to go out, but I don't see the posts for places that fix them. Do you have the contact info?
