Default Ls430 01-03 mystery

Spoke to Lexus today and apparently there is no power steering ecu for the 2001-2003. Doesn't seem possible but take a look.

So how the hell does the steering work on these models?

I can assure you that there are wires that attach to the electronics because I cut two of them when I could not remove the clip-on the the PS. See the green arrow, lower right corner.

The steering 'rod' connects into the hydrolic assembly. Follow the red arrows.
