Default Anyone upgraded to better reverse bulbs on 04 LS430?

I find the factory reversing lights very inadequate when reversing at night. The clear lens is sooo tiny and the bulb fits in at an angle meaning there's not much room in the socket for a longer bulb.
The original bulb is a T15 I think.

Just wondering if anyone has upgraded their reversing bulbs on their LS430? When I say 'upgraded', I mean upgraded to more light output to see at night, not just a standard cheap LED that may look nicer/whiter, but they don't seem to put out much usable light at all.

Anyone have any high powered LED bulbs or other bulbs that are brighter that work well to improve vision?

Thanks

i use the mtec peanut bulbs in my headlights and they are extremely bright well worth the money.
i would think it would be more than enough light for the reverse.

Hi thanks for the reply
Have you tried them in the reversing lights socket? The socket is angled meaning the light from a led doesnt shine straight back if you know what I mean.

Anyone tried these or any other bulbs?

I have these as my revers lights. They fit fine even though they are long. Light output is great considering the angle they sit at in the tail light housing.

Great! I'd love to see the pics thanks!
I found a very bright led bulb the other day but its too big to fit in the socket. There is almost no room at all in the lens for longer bulbs.

Great pic thanks mikedc26! You said you have the same bulbs as HiloDB1, but the link he posted up is for a t20 bulb. The reverse bulbs on my 04 ls430 are t15. How did you get them to fit?
Thanks

No modification on mine. It might have to do with the fact my LS is an 01.

The 01-03 LS' have different reverse light bulbs. I just put LED's in my 02 two weeks ago and it was different from my 05.

Has anyone ever tried using HID backup lights? Some in the BMW community have done slim ballasts with 35w HIDs.

Still looking for any other ideas. I'd prefer not to be gluing bulbs in my 04 ls430!
