I'm interested also.... I have the same clunk noise on the driver's side... don't like driving it until I get it fixed... but don't really want to take it to the stealer...

Yes! Sorry for the late reply.

It was the strut! After I removed the strut and compared it with the new one, the old one would not compress all the way down, maybe only half way. Something inside was limiting the travel (when compressed by hand).

The old strut mounts were in perfect condition. I don't recommend changing them unless you know they are bad.

Sometimes these kinds of things happen when a motor mount goes bad. It did on my LS 430.
