Your current mileage, and how many miles you expect to get out of your 430
I'm currently at 86k miles on my 2004, and I hope to see 250k. That will give me 10 more years of driving without a car payment and my kid will hopefully be off my payroll by then. I'm sure I'll have to drop some coin on repairs at some point, but I feel the quality of the car will help possibly keep that to a reasonable amount. Sadly, I feel the 460 about the same as the S-Class and 7-Series. Not a car I would feel comfortable owning outside of warranty.
What are your plans?

I believe there's a NY cab driver with an LS430 with close to 400K.

The LS430 engine should do 360k without major engine work if not abused and is maintained per the manual. The AT should be good for 180k miles and likely a lot more more if AT fluid is changed on a periodic basis. Remaining components both interior and exterior on the LS430 are high quality for a factory built car - good for 20-25 years of driving if well maintained.
I only have 56k on my 06. I will likely keep it for another 5-7 years (the 06 LS will be 15 years old at that point) and then I'll likely buy a compact plug in hybrid because at that point we will be older, retired and definitely conserving finances at that point.

Currently 343,000 on my 06. Used hard the 1st 4 years, then sparingly as a back up fleet car. I'm retiring it in August. No point in selling it, I'll keep it as a personal runabout. Everything on the car works as new, except for burned out lights to the sport mode/suspension adjust switches.
Wish I had of ran it harder, the last 4 years, I' m sure it would have doubled current mileage without issue.
My Lincoln Town Cars do 120k/year. 2011 models all have 300k to 360k.
Their motors are great, the weak point in them is the transmission.

It's a Lexus, it'll give you a lifetime if you take good care of it.
I have 134,000 miles on my '06. I honestly believe it will easily do double that with only regular checks, engine oil and fuel.
Every part of the car is functional even though it's 8 years old. I remember my fathers BMW, his rear curtain failed after 3 years, and lots of other BMW's I've seen.
I also remember the CD changer failing on his, and you rarely find a CD changer with a problem on the LS430's.
It's a car for a lifetime, built sincerely with devotion.

My '01 has 245K miles. It's been a northern car its whole life (Buffalo, NY, Michigan and Illinois) - and not garage kept. Dino oil changes every 5K miles. Rear gear fluid change once (DIY), trans fluid drain and fill changes only (DIY), plugs and oxygen sensors at 125K (DIY), TB & WP once at 175K. Valve cover gaskets at 235K. Control arm bushings at 200K. Passengers don't believe it's 13+ years old with 245K miles. Oh, and DIY replaced foam speaker surround front doors and rear woofer. I've had 1 electrical gremlin that just got solved - I'll start a new thread on that to alert others since I think it may be a more common issue as these LS's age.

Twice at Lexus (proper way) last one was Jiffylube, not sure of their process.
I'm replacing the LS with a Tesla S. Should it run to 340k miles, I'll save $65k in fuel costs. Maintenance is projected at 1/2 of what I've spent on the Lexus, which so far has been $25k.
P.S I'm getting a finance rate of 1.49% on the Tesla

Downside to the Tesla = It's bare bones interior features & rear seat ain't too comfortable. I figure anyone requesting the Tesla, will either own one or want to own one & not care too much about an uncomfortable 30-40 minute ride.
