this is mine , I still have a few areas of paint left in the corner in these photos ,,I got it off yesterday

When I read your first post, I was hoping both areas above the licence plate were chrome, not only the bottom strip.

When I looked and my car this morning, the lower portion was already stripped of paint.
Must have been the previous owner.

If you wanted full chrome door handles you could use handles off a 2006+ 4runner SR5 model I believe they fit on the LS.

Now this is assuming you don't have smart key model ....

hmmm not sure what you mean ,,,the bottom part comes unpainted chrome from the factory , its the top part that is painted , it can be stripped if you want the whole thing chrome.

sorry, after looking more carefully at the pictures it does look very good !
How long did it take to get the paint off ? 2 - 3 hours ?

I thought it was common, theres a DIY thread. I removed mine and stripped the paint off with aircraft remover.

I'm not necessarily a fan of it, but to each his own.

There were some people doing this on here a few years ago. Most used a paint stripper. It is recommended to remove the trim if you go this route because one guy accidentally stripped the paint off part of the trunk and had to get it repainted.

i was cleaning my car a while back, noticed the paint coming of the roof rails, it pealed off like plastic, underneath shiny crome, looks great
