Just had my 90,000 mile service last week. Lexus dealer (parts & labor) quoted $1,300 +.
I decided to purchase the parts myself (all OEM) mostly on-line.
Aisin Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump TKT-021, includes matched idler and tensioner bearings, gaskets and o-rings.
2-gallons Toyota Super Long Life coolant.
Toyota thermostat, gasket, o-ring and drive (serpentine belt).
Total parts; $ 309.63
Local NAPA Auto service shop supplied the labor: $ 354.59
Total cost: $ 664.22
The mechanic that performed the work had previously worked for a local Toyota dealer for several years and was very familiar with the Lexus engine.

Just tightened mine a few weeks ago. They are 10mm.
Valve cover gaskets are pretty easy to install and cost ~20 dollars for parts (each IIRC). Make sure you don't force anything as you can rip the gasket on while installing and dont over tighten the bolts.. You need an extension and a swivel 14mm (or 12mm) socket. I swapped mine out 8-10 months ago and forgot which size the bolts are

My local mechanic in Northern California loved to get the job. These cars are nice to work on for someone with the tools and the know how. I would scope out local shops, maybe with a good Yelp rating, and see what they charge, do you like them, and get a long term relationship going. I paid around $800 without chasing the parts down myself or anything. You might save money going to Buffalo but do you want to make that schlep every time you need work done? If so, go for it and shop them too. This job can be shopped by phone really. It's cut and dried. You can get the kit with the water pump from a Toyota dealer or online (parts.com for one) and bring in the parts kit and cut another $100 or more off the job.

4) How much did/would you pay a Toyota/Lexus dealer to do the labor on everything above (supplying your own parts)?

OEM for coolant
Brake fluid any DOT3/4
Recommend new drive belt tensioner since the labor is already included to replace it.
Transmission Fluid - Generally Recommended to use only Toyota WS - 3-4 for D&F, complete flush uses around 16 quarts
Differential - I used Mobil 1. Takes 1.6 quarts. Drain and fill.
Brake fluid any DOT3/4

I didn't see what year your LS430 was, but at least for the 04 - 06 cars, there can be a tag attached to the differential specifying that only synthetic lube should be used.

I have to get under there to verify mine (2005 MY), but I would prefer to use Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil if possible, since it will probably be around $10 a bottle vs $25 a bottle (Sewell with CL discount).
So we are ok using all fluids non-oem except Coolant and Transmission fluid? I was going to use good quality aftermarket for my differential, brake fluid, power steering fluid and oil.
