Default Best Brake Upgrade for LS 430

I am considering upgrading my brakes... I have searched inside the forum and have not run across any good threads regarding upgrades for the brakes... I know there is always the high dollar Brembo option, and I saw the stop tech ad in the Vendors but was curious to see if any of y'all have put anything other than OEM or part store brakes and rotors on your cars...

we already have a very big strong set of brakes, honestly I haven't seen many people (if any) upgrading them

MrShirls, I agree with 1willy1 that we already have some pretty good brakes, but like everything it can be upgraded. Brake systems are offered by Stop Tech and Brembo....systems are also offered by Airtekk ($3k front and rear) and Futura Designs. In the end I guess it depends on how much cheddar you want to throw at it. I'd love to go Big Brake but right now I can throw that money at something else for the car. Keep us posted on what you decide.

if you want more bite, get better pads. the 430 brakes are already pretty big in its own.

I've always been happy with parts ordered from RockAuto.com with my 2GS. Check there before the dealer.

Login with your account tied to your ClubLexus account and it should read ~$45 for front or rear set.

Upgrade the lines to stainless, about the best improvement you can do. Little better pedal feel and stops a tad quicker. Of course it depends on your tires as well.

There are a few guys running around on here with BBK. Rev01 has the Brembo package. I myself will be going Stop Tech when funds become available. If you do decide to go aftermarket BBK please stay away from the cheaper brands.

Don't forget, the more aggressive pads also wear the rotors much faster. In my opinion, the stock brakes work great.

our brakes works pretty dammm good... found this out when a car in front of me slammed on their brakes on the freeway for some apparent reason. upgrading to a 4-6k braking system isnt necessary unless its for looks or bragging rights imo

My o5 had OEM and I was not happy with them.. As on my motorcycles I like to be able to stop as fast as I can go and always use EBC. Bought a full set of EBC reds. WOW Now that's what I was looking for and dust is about half. You might give these a try. Around $250 for front and back.
