Busted LS430 (UL)
I have a question. So a few weeks ago, we got some snow storms here in Utah. On my way to work, I hit a bad part of the highway and slammed into the right side barriers. The front right side is being completely replaced and the suspension is being replaced too. (Sorry no pics, I did not even think about--I was a little shook up and angry to think about taking pics.)
My question is, is my car screwed now? I have heard a lot of people saying it will never ride the same and will not be good anymore. Also, does this cut the value in half? Is my car worth anything anymore? I am very upset about the whole situation in general, but now I am also worried the car is not going to be good anymore (i.e. ride quality, functionality).

My guess would be that it will be okay, based on the fact that your insurance obviously did not total the car. They usually total a car if they have the slightest reason, as Lexus repairs are quite expensive.

Your car will be fine as long as the shop is good at doing the repairs. It probably will lower the value, especially if there was a police report of the accident and it may end up on a Carfax report.

k. That makes me feel better. There was a police report--I had to be towed and could not drive due to the damage to the right front wheel set up. The place I am having the repair work is supposed to be really good. They work with the Lexus dealership here in Salt Lake (at least that is what I was told) and they guarantee their work.
Thank you guys. :-)

So the car is worth keeping, then? That is good. I was wondering if I should keep it, or get rid of it. I am feeling better from everyone's replies. Thank you so much. :-)

I'm glad your LS kept you safe. I love the feeling of driving a large, safe car.

It may even ride better after the work then it did before.
Often, what makes or breaks a body repair is the paint man. When my ls430 was rear ended in a parking lot, 3 days after I purchased the car, I found the most expensive highest rated shop I could find. Insurance company was not so fond of their prices but the work was perfect. You would not believe how expensive it was to replace a bumper, 1 rear tail light and a few other parts under there. Over 6 grand... Insane. That's why it's not to hard to total out these cars. Which, is a bit unfortunate.

Thank you. :-) I got a call from the repair shop and the car should be ready the end of the week or early next week. I will be glad to get out of the rental. I hate it. It is a Nissan Altima. :-(
