Post Thoughts on Injen Short Ram Air Intake

My dear friends,
So I was just browsing for some mod ideas to add to my Cherry 430. I've alway wanted to get some type of exhaust system, like Magnaflow or Borla. But they seemed to be too expensive and require a lot of mechanical work.
So I came across this sweet sounding Air intake, and thought who'd be better to take views on from other than you guys.

It's from the brand Injen, it is easy to install and costs about $240.

Luckily I found someone on youtube who had this already.
So please comments on if it's a yay or nay to go with it.

Thank you.

I have one of these on my LS and it sounds amazing with the stock exhaust. When you hit the gas hard or drive in stick shift mode it gets loud.

Now that I have a custom exhaust I can't hear it. The intake is pretty expensive though. DC makes one for around $200 or you can try to find a used Injen or Fujita intake off of the classifieds forum.

On many cars, when you install an intake alone you gain a little high end horsepower but loose a little low end torque. With the LS430, I think you will loose both. I say nay but this is just me. Injen is a quality manufacturer but I prefer the stock design and protection. Also, if there are no dyno sheets showing what the intake is capable of there is a reason why...

Another option you can do is remove one of the exhaust resonators to get a little more sound out of the mufflers.

I heard the Fujita intake was the best and it actually showed gains in power in torque. Someone posted about it on the forums but I'm not even sure how I found the thread.

I didn't notice much change with my Injen intake. It felt a tiny bit quicker when I drove aggressively.

I have the injenn intake and love it. Don't expect no noticeable changes in hp or tq.

I second that. They are not available anywhere. Not even used.

And does the Injen fit on the 2006?

Because all the listings say from 01-03. Weird.

I ran into one for sale back in January but it was almost $400. It's a shame they were discontinued.

You're welcome! Good luck and hopefully it won't give you any trouble.

You will have to shave the engine cover slightly if you want it to fit with the intake on.
