Default (VSC off) light came on

where is the or they sensors located? Is there one on the center core support? Any help will be appreciated., What is the triangle light in center of instrument panel for? It looks like the hazard icon on the hazard lights switch.

VSC is Vehicle Stability Control, so it's not just one sensor. You have to read the code, any local autozone will do this free of charge. Then you'll know which sensor needs attention.

Triangle hazard light means 'your car is broken', so please get it serviced!

Have somebody pull the code. Most likely bad O2 sensor.

O2 sensors will trigger a check engine light as well in case of upper O2 sensors and just a check engine light if lower sensor/s are bad.

If you have a UL it could be caused by the air also, if it is flashing and such. Mine did that before, reset itself though after I jacked it up to look under it to see if there were any issues.

you should scan VSC, not engine module... cannot be done with cheap chinese obd2 tester.

hmm, the little scanner i bought was a little more than just those real cheap ones. supposed to be able to do ABS & some other things. sucks if it doesn't scan VSC codes.

my scanner looks like this one:
Amazon.com: Actron CP9580A Enhanced AutoScanner Plus with Code Connect, Trilingual, OBD II, CAN and Expanded ABS Coverage: Automotive Amazon.com: Actron CP9580A Enhanced AutoScanner Plus with Code Connect, Trilingual, OBD II, CAN and Expanded ABS Coverage: Automotive

yup, it won't be able to scan anything else than engine codes.
VSC OFF can also illuminate, if zero-point calibration of accelerometer/s (there's 3 in ls) is reset (this happens sometimes when people stick non-toyota stuff into the obd2 port - happened to me). if zero-point-cal is the case, vsc off illuminates not immidiately upon startup, but right after vehicle starts moving.
there's a procedure, where you can read VSC fault codes using only a jumper wire. But i do not have service manual handy to tell you what to do with it.

either chinese cable and pirated/illegal copy of toyota techstream software (chinese 'friends' do supply these too), or chinese clone of Toyota Intelligent Tester 2/3 (amazing tools, works almost as good as original minus flash reprogramming).
first option is about 50usd nowadays, second one is about 500. both are 'use at your own risk, can fry ur whip'.

as per 'legal' options - there's no real alternatives to dealer systems (either techstream or toyota IT). some multivendor scanner MAY be albe to pull some extra codes, but nothing like having access to all 25+ modules and all settings and CBEST/LPS stuff etcetcetc.

so i use option one - cable+techstream software. works great

ADD: getting the manual later, will post link to pdf section 'vsc/trc diag without scantool'. if i remember correctly, that section also contain procedures to reestablish 'zero-point cal'.

http://www.careucar.com/wholesale/to...th-suzuki.html

i'm looking for something to have so i can take care of my wife's car without having to worry about bringing it somewhere.

also one other question, will the VCS light come on with the regular check engine light? i didn't know this, but she said the check engine light was on along with the VSC & traction off light.
