I have had an '06 UL, with hydraulic suspensions. And I currently have an '06 CL with normal suspensions.
To my taste and feel of driving. I really like my current CL with normal suspension more. The UL felt good but not as smooth and as steady as the CL. The UL feels like riding on balloons but ones that are more firm. While engaging the sport suspension makes makes everything feel very harsh and strong, attentive to every little detail on the road.
The CL on the other hand feels steady all the time, somewhere in between feeling like riding on balloons and driving a sport car. So for that, I prefer the CL normal suspension more.
Both are a dream compared to other cars. Both are from the mother Lexus, of the great Japan.

I will take that a step further and my ML Euro Sport Suspension I prefer over the standard suspension in my last Premium model. Both soft suspensions are a dream for cars this size. The sport susp allows me to handle curves etc. at 5-6 MPH or more than the non sport without feeling like I am sliding out of the seat, the nose is flatter and the suspension is more settled over woop de do's with what seems like dampened travel. Now potholes and rough road may seem a bit more noticable and it is not as floaty which I do not miss. I would take either but prefer the sport.
The 04 premium had 17's and the 04 sport has 18's I am sure the low pro tires aid handling also.

Suspension helps with preventing lean of the vehicle so that you maintain as much distributed contacted at the four corners to the ground. Sliding in your seat is just inertial force, you'll slide just as much with any suspension. You should actually slide less with a normal suspension as you'd have to slide over going up at a higher angle in a lean.

Wouldn't I be at less of an angle if the car is flatter say on a swooping right turn the pass side of the car would dip less with less incline/lean on a stoughter supension equipped car, just questioning rarely dought you Alex.

I've only just bought my ML in July, I love the stock ride(other vehicle is a truck). So much do I enjoy the ride that my plans for wheels and lowering the car have been put on hold until I find something that will ride like stock or close to stock. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally I would like to have 20'' wheels and a slight drop, nothing crazy as this is quickly becoming more of a daily driver.
