Default LS430's as Daily Drivers?

Hey guys,

ill cut right to the chase, I own 2 SC400's and now an LS430 that will be picked up this week.

I don't own my own home, I rent, and I don't even have one parking spot, I park on the street, so its hard to own more then one vehicle.

Ive just sold one of my SC400`s, its getting picked up on Wednesday,, and im wondering if I want to sell my other one, which has been my daily driver for 4 years now and use the LS430 strictly.

Do you guys use yours for daily's Or are they more of a weekend cruiser ?

Any reasons not to use the LS as a daily?

Just curious to hear your thoughts, before I make my decision.

Thanks as always

heres a pic of it, once I get payment for my SC400 that im selling I will be going to pick it up immediately , the LS430 has been my dream car for the past 5 years, im so excited that its now coming to life

Im a college student and have an 04 ls430 as a daily. I have no problems with it at all. Only thing is paying for gas but its worth it to me. I have to drive on the highway to get to school and nothing beats the LS as a comfy cruising daily. I dont think I would be able to go to a civic or any other car as a daily anymore. Thats just my take. Nice car, it looks real clean. Is that a CL or UL package?

thanks doodoo, to be perfectly honest with you buddy , im not sure if its CL or UL lol.

I wanted this car so bad, and the price was so right, that I gave it a quick visual inspection, went for a test drive for 5 minutes, and left a deposit on it immediately.

And yes the gas wont be a problem because ive been used to driving the 1uz V8 in the sc400.

Also if I sell my other SC400, I can re lip my Auto Couture maganfiqes, and throw them on the LS

I cant think of a single reason to drive anything else. They really are amazing cars. Yes gas mileage isn't amazing but it isn't terrible either, even in the city. Trust me, once you drive the LS430 everyday you wont want anything else.

You can tell whether the rear seat armrest has a bunch of buttons then it is UL. If just heat seat, then it is CL. Those auto couture have crazy lips! They look like 6 or 7 inch lips. I wish I could have that. I just recently got me some new rims with only 4 inch lips lol.

The LS430 is a great daily driver. A lady at my company has daily driven her 01 LS430 UL the past four years without any issues other than the factory amp going out. I daily drove mine for six months and it was pretty fun. Now that I sold my Saturn I daily drive my SC300 and switch with the LS every other day and it's been fun so far.

I would recommend you keep your SC400 and drive both cars. They make a good combo since one is somewhat sporty and the other is pure luxury.

I drive mine daily when I am not deployed, I have a UL and it treats me pretty good. It requires little to no maintenance and gets decent mileage. I just stay up on my oil changes and keep her looking good. It's a great road trip car also, have gone on many trips with the family in it and it has adequate room and everything for my wife, me and our 3 kids.

5 years ago I started a new job and lost my company car that I had for 14 years.
Bought a LS 400 and drove it for 2 years. Sept 2010 I bought my 02' LS 430 UL with 100,000 and have put another 100,000 miles on her and she runs like a champ. I average 21 MPH with mixed driving. Great daily driver. No major issues at all. I could probably calculate the cost per mile over the weekend and post. Mechanically the two issues I have had (wheel bearing, and exhaust leak) were both from my driving. I hit a curb really hard which killed the bearing, shortly after my "Y" pipe leaked and I replaced. Aside from that, it has been oil, tires and brakes. Getting ready to change the timing belt again.
Great Cars!!

I use mine daily. Fantastic car. So is the LS400. But I only average 8-10 thousand miles a year from how often I travel.

Along with the is300, it is the most perfect Lexus built. Best engine and super comfy, I've owned some 6 cylinder cars that got worse fuel mileage. Excellent choice.love the color too.

I ran my stock CL as a daily driver except on the nastiest of winter days.
