Are there any Lexus master technicians on here? I have an 04 Ls 430 with the smart key option and I went to my Lexus dealer to have auto lock programmed so the doors will lock when I get into the car and drive off. It appears as though this was a standard feature on every USA model and other versions but not in Australia at the time. I took my car to Lexus in Australia and they plugged in their scan tool and the only programmable option with the locks that was available was to set the doors to UNLOCK when the vehicle is placed in Park. (there's absolutely no point in activating this setting in my opinion because they dont lock in the first place unless you lock them manually!) There was no option to have the car doors LOCK when shifting out of park or when the vehicle reaches a certain speed etc. The tech showed me the screen as proof. I find this totally unacceptable and surely there must be something I can do to get AUTOLOCK. This model is quite rare in Australia and it's just easier for them to say "it can't be done" but no one wants to research it further. Surely there must be something I can do to get it - can i buy a door lock ECU module from overseas or get another ecu programmer or something? I don't really want to install an aftermarket product and mess with OEM smart locks.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated thanks!
