I did the swap to steel springs and shocks almost a year ago as my rear air shocks started to fail. Total was around $1300 labor included. By the way Tanabe NF210 lowering springs are cheaper than OEM springs.

I fully support your statement and to add to that; the economical impact is greatly amplified if you consider annual cost to own the car.
Assuming Car drops value of $5,500 in 3 years and you sell the car right after three years, your annual cost of ownership (insurance, gas, other costs are not considered) just got doubled.
I am glad I chose to skip UL and got CL.

I walked into my garage this morning and the drivers side front chassis was sitting on the tire. I assume the air shock went out. It's a 2001. I live in a rural area without a Lexus dealer. Will probably have to have it picked up by a dealer 100 miles away for repair. I have 108,000 miles on it. Is this most likely a air shock or could it be a sensor? My concern is it may not be economical to repair.

Any suggestions on what might be wrong and the costs associated with it?

If it's just one corner then it's probably the air bladder. The entire shock/air spring has to be replaced as a unit. The sensors may make a car ride high or low or crooked but not let a single corner collapse. The shock is $1,000 on a good day and list is $1350 for a single. You can replace them when they fail and hope you don't get caught in a bad spot when it happens or go with steel springs and it won't happen again. The air bladder is not available separately from the shock. Good luck with your decision.
