iPad in place of your Navi...

That is very cool. But center glove box contained HVAC controls is not such a good idea that needs a bit of rethink.
The rest is absolutely amazing and quite visionary of what cars in 20-30 years will be like. Instead of clunky weird inbuilt proprietary systems and their GUIs, in 20-30 years time or so most cars will have a universal systems port and a central display slot that accepts your system and display device - likely sized to accept a couple of form factors - like current iphone or mini-ipad sizes. You get out of a car and get into another and you take your system with you (along with all your personal preferences and settings for various cars models and types). As you approach a car's drivers side door the car will handshake with your system and start to set controls and seating before you even get in based on your preferences.
As an alternative a future car will have a large inbuilt display screen but the system that runs the screen and all the smarts and software to drive the display and the car itself will be accomplished by a custom car specific phone app on the phone that stays in your pocket. .

Except that the VAIS product is not wireless - have to connect your phone to it.

The glass screen displays are already coming, so the rest that Jabber mentioned definitely can be realized in the next 15 years i would say. With a smart phone, you can take your "interface" from car to car because the screen is just a GUI for whatever setup you have. Imagine instead of having fancy things in a car,you are now buying an interface you cam take from a Focus up to a Ferrari and it would be your same feel on the displays.
