Default How to use Techron

Should I use Techron in back to back fillips or space it out and maybe add a bottle on the 3rd fillup, Etc. Having a slight bit of hesitation on accel. in my 2002 LS430, I've seen Techron recommended on here but not sure how everyone uses it>

Thanks,
Harry

Years ago, I used to use a full-tank treatment about once every 6 months. I'd run that tank down to under 1/8 before refilling and diluting the treatment.

In the past few years, I've only been running Top-Tier gas (Shell) in all my cars and haven't felt any need to run Techron. I also bypass any station with a gas truck there.

What gas are you usually putting in? Any warning lights? When was the last spark plug change?

I've always used it in all my cars. One 20 once bottle twice a year. I use Chevron in my LS as well.

Agree - I use a 20oz bottle once or twice a year to keep the injectors clean in addition to always using Tier 1 gas. And also make sure your air cleaner, MAF, and throttle body are clean. That's the key to smooth as silk idle.

Default Techron

I'm using shell gas most of the time. No warning lights and plugs were changed at 90K. Now have 126k on the 2002 430.

109,000 with original plugs as well. Runs like a top and smooth as silk. My expression here is........"Let sleeping dogs lie"

Boca - agree - I think modern iridium tip plugs running in combo with cleaner gas and much tighter engine controls can last a lot longer than current OEM recommended service interval. If it were me at over 100k miles, I'd periodically take out a sample plug to inspect it (maybe every 10k miles) - if sample looks good no reason to change them that I can tell.

Techron is a good stuff! Gentle and effective... Pity it's almost non-obtainable in russia....
