Default radar cruise sensor removal/lens repair

Hi im trying to remove the radar cruise sensor on 01 ls ul to repair bad lens the four allen/ 10mm bolts on front just spin am i missing something cant see how from engine bay either no way bumper cover would have to come off to get them Toyota engineers are nicer than for serviceability in my experience.....

Radar cruise was available in 2001? I thought 2005 was the first year. Do you mean "laser"?

Yes of course laser its 01 so in bumper not grill

I agree that the engineers designed many aspects of the LS430 for very easy service, but the laser sensor is not one of those parts. You will need to remove the bumper cover and the bumper reinforcement assembly to remove the laser sensor assembly.

Also note that you are supposed to recalibrate the laser's optical axis if you remove and reinstall the sensor. You will want to take it to a Lexus dealership to do this - it requires SST 09870−60000 (09870−60010, 09870−60020) and a Lexus scantool.
