You dont mention that the radiator had a hole in it the first time you brought it in for the stat. My guess is that they replaced the stat and didnt bleed system properly and it might have blown the radiator (if that was even blown). Bleeding takes a little time but its not too difficult.
1. Fill the system then start the car and get it to normal operating temp with cap off.
2. Set the heat on high and hot and rev enging to 1500 - 2,000 rpm for a few minutes (maybe 3-5) You may see bubbles or "burping" coming out every now and them
3. Turn off the car, top off the radiator and fill the reservoir and let it fully cool. Make sure you have enough fluid in the reservoir because as the motor cools it draws the coolent in from the reservoir. You may have to repeat this but I have never failed with this method.

I havent had to do it yet on my LS so I'm not sure if there's a bleeder screw located somewhere. Maybe someone will chime in.

I will try that today. I think you are correct, because i am just guessing but, i never had a leak in the radiator and where it was leaking from was not underneath in the front. I think that the stat may be blown the leak was gushing out from quater way to just under mid way off to the passenger side. NOT close to radiator.

I would park it with the radiator higher then the rest of the car so the air will come out easier and then follow Brewmyown's instructions. I park in our driveway which is sloped and burp the vehicles front end up.

Thanks John I forgot to mention that. I usually will park it on an incline or take a floor jack and raise the front of the car slightly.

Hardnett, if this does work check your reservoir the next few days (before staring when fully cooled) and note the coolant level. Add if needed.

The air pocket can stop at the thermostat and then it won't know to open since no hot water hits the sensor of the thermostat.
