I know this is a bit of an old thread but... I have twice driven 12 hours in the seat with 3 passengers and a trunk full of luggage. 2005 LS 430 rides like a champ, XM sat radio. Teenage kids play games, nap, and watch movies in back. Everyone arrives happy. just over 25 mpg hwy.

Whose ready for it?!?!.......... 42 hours straight!
Year and a half ago I drove from New Jersey to Las Vegas straight through with my GF. We were on the way to move to LA and decided to just drive to vegas and stay two nights as aposed to stopping in Nebraska and staying one night then one in vegas...
42 Hrs straight.... of course we stopped for gas and 3 times for food. I drove all but 5 hours of that. Most comfortable car I ever drove and we had a blast.
On the return trip this past year I drove from LA to Tulsa.... it took two days as well however we stopped at the grand canyon and meteor crater on the way.

We are still doing the 900 mile trips from North Louisiana to Chicagoland in our 2002 LS430. There aren't too many 12 year old cars I would trust on long trips with family, but I have complete confidence in this car. I don't forsee retiring this car anytime in the near future. It amazes me everytime I get in it.
