Default Drl question

I was wondering if its possible to disable to day time running lights? I know in a previous car I was able to take of a control box and bend the pin back and that was all it, worked when I turned the lights on and looked way better Imo. Now i'm sure the ls430 is a much more sophisticated car so not thinking it would be as easy as bending a pin but is it possible at all?

Here's an answer from another thread and to my understanding this is the only way to solve your predicament.

you can just unplug the high beams but of course they will not function.
