90K Service on '04 LS 430--What should be included?
Hi Folks:
I looked at the thread on the timing belt and a few others and just wanted to make sure I understood the consensus on what the 90K service should include, notwithstanding what the manual recommends. Basic questions are:
(i) do I replace the water pump preemptively?
(ii) should I do rear diff fluid (this I can do myself-- car has 87.5K miles, has been dealer maintained, except for oil changes, but I don't think this has been done)?
(iii) replace fuel filter ( I don't think this has ever been done)?
(iv) collapse the 100K service w/ the 90K and do coolant as well?
I have a few other cars that I do maintenance on myself, and over maintain them. They are GM and maintenance matters a lot IMO. But this vehicle is a completely different level of engineering and design, and although I'm skeptical of the minimal maintenance recommended, so far I've gone by the book, except for the trans service, which I had done at 70K. I don't want to spend $ w/out a reason, but I need it to stay reliable.
Car has been owned since new, 90% highway miles, gently driven. It is a great vehicle, and I'll trade it when hell freezes over.
