Howdy:
For a really fine LS430, buy in the SouthWest off Craigslist (San Diego, South LA, Palm Springs, Vegas, Phoenix). Recently bought both mine from original owners in SoCal (Orange and San Diego County). None of the back East, middle America nonsense (read rust....). Have a friend shop it for you if you are serious. Cheap SouthWest flight from Midway & drive the damn thing home & have an absolute Creampuff (lots of rich folks out here that baby these!)!
1/30/14; Bought the Wife an '04 UL with 135k, Moonlight (off white) pearl with everything including relatively new (11k miles) Michelins for $14k.
Liked hers so much, on 2/26/14 bought me an '01UL with 103k, white with everything available on an '01 including damn near brand new Mich (4k miles) for $10.5k.
Both with full maintenance records (timing belt & front of motor done correctly at Lexus).
Both absolutely mint.
Best, R

I am a used car dealer and I had been shopping at 3-4 auctions a week for 6 months and finally found mine in January. I knew what I wanted... an 04 or better with 125 or less on it, and I wanted to pay no more than 12k for it. I bought it from another independent dealer in my town. It is a 2004 LS 430 Flint Mica with nav and radar cruise. It had 124k on it and I paid $11,500. I love it. It isn't flawless though. It had great service records and the Timing belt was done at 90K but the chrome on the wheels are peeling but I have just ordered a set of LS 460 18's for it. Once I get the wheels, tint and vent visors Ill post some pics.

Make sure you didn't get OEM LS460 wheels, as they have a different bolt pattern. The replicas should work.

Congratulations!
Radar cruise means that you have either a Custom Luxury or Ultra Luxury car. Both are fantastic.
Waiting for those pics...........

I did order the replica's, found them online for $412 for the set. I am currently debating on which tire to put on them. I can get a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4s for $900. Or the value from what I have researched are the Cooper CS4's for $650. What do y'all think a set of OEM 17" with the chrome peeling and 40% Michelin Primacy's are worth? Hoping to sell the old wheels and offset the costs of the new wheels and tires. I would love input from anyone with the Coopers...

Thanks for that info. Haven't done my research on which package I officially have. It doesn't have the reclining back seats. SO it must be the Custom Luxury. The VIN when I scanned it in my various dealer pricing apps had not indicated the package. That's great to know!!

MrShirls - You can positively identify Radar cruise (as opposed to Laser cruise) by the rectangular plastic "shield" around the Lexus "L" in the center of the grille.
You are correct, it cannot be a UL without the reclining & vibrating rear seats. The CL (and UL) will have headlight washers in the top of the front bumper.
The VIN does not directly indicate the package/selection. You can look it up from the VIN if you have access to factory records - and you can get the record for your car (I am told) by signing up for a 2-day membership to the Lexus Tech Info site, https://techinfo.toyota.com/
It costs $15, I think.

Gene, I have the a cut out section in my lower grill on the passenger side that is my radar cruise. I assume that is radar because when I turn the cruise control on it says "Radar Ready". But I am not familiar with the shield around the L in the grill....

Oh yeah, I also have the head light washers... I knew my car was nice but didn't know it was one rung shy of top of the line. I am that much more proud of my purchase.

Yes, that message causes a lot of confusion. Unfortunately, Lexus uses the same text message "radar" for both Adaptive Cruise Control systems (laser and radar). They both work about the same way, but the radar is less sensitive to disturbances like sunlight low on the horizon, etc. The owner's manual has a supplement that covers both systems. If you don't have one, create a userID on LexusUSA.com (I think that is correct), and request a free copy. It will also have enough information about other little-known features to keep you awake for several evenings :-)
The "glass eye" in the passenger side of the lower front bumper is positive identification of the DLCC (laser) system. DRCC (radar) comes only with the PCS option.
