Default Maintenance Required warning light

2005 LS with Nav system. The Maint Reqd warning light came on. I reset all scheduled maintenance dates and mileage. Light still coming on. Oil is OK.

Any ideas or should I go ahead and take it to the dealer?

Do a search in forum for maintenance light, that is just a light that you can turn off by following a few steps

Thanks, I did just that and found a suggestion that I tried 2-3 times before it worked. These cars have way too many bells and whistles.

Sounds like you need an owners manual. If you don't have one, you can access My Lexus, make an account, and then either download or order a hard copy. It's free. No one should be without the owners manual

I have all the original manuals; however, some of the "fixes" are not covered in the manual.

Place odometer to total miles driven. Turn ignition off. Hold "trip/odometer" button in while turning ignition on. Dashes appear in trip box which gradually disappear. When dashes are gone, maintenance required light will stay off.

The 04 manual, pg 95 states: Mileage Reset - After replacing the engine oil, be sure to reset the maintanance data.

To reset the data, perform the following operations:
1. Push the "ODO/TRIP: button to change the display to blank.
2. Turn the ignition switch off.
3. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" with the trip meter "RESET" button held down.
4. Keep pushing the "RESET" button for longer than 5 seconds after the ignition is turned on.

After the above operation, the master warning light comes on, a warning tone sounds and the above message appears to inform you that the engine oil maintenance data has been reset. (U.S.A. only)
