Default Anyone ever replace the front parking sonar sensor?

My front driver's size parking sonar sensor(s) have been tripping a lot the past year or so. Sometimes it would just making a slow beep beep as if there's an obstacle in front of it for a few seconds and then go away. Then at other times it'll give me an immediate warning "Check sonar sensor" and not even work. After a few minutes of driving it went away. But now it's coming back and it's been staying on, so I've disabled it totally.

I'd like to diagnose it if possible. Maybe switch the passenger's side with the driver's side to see if the sensor is bad in itself or not, then maybe order a replacement. I'm out of warranty, so would like to do my own work if possible. It doesn't seem like that, but I don't know what's involved.

Thanks!

I had 2 replaced at one time. Cost was around $550 at the dealer (covered under warranty for me). The sensors are like $150 each. You need to remove the entire front bumper and risk breaking clips, etc. IMHO, it's not worth the risk to save a couple of hundred unless the dealer is right around the corner and you can suffer some downtime in case you need to order special parts.

It's not very hard, just got to be good with your hands. All you need to do and remove the bumper, pull the clip out, and pop out the old sensor.

Ok...and does anyone know the step by step process of removing the front bumper to replace the parking sensors?

I replaced my front left (drivers side) parking sensor this morning. I just pulled the bottom cover underneath the car back & I was able to reach in there and attached my new sensor. It works perfect.

Yes, Im speaking of the engine under cover. I removed about 6 screws & pulled the cover down a little so I could slide my hand up there. while I have it loose Im going to change my fog lights to yellow bulbs 3K
