Default Check VSC light/traction control

On my 04 LS430, I recently had the Check VSC warning message come on and at the same time the "Traction Contol Off" light came on. When I push the Traction Control button, it will not turn it on or off - it stays off.

What could be causing this? Probable fix/cost?

You've discovered what I failed to do...get rid of both VSC and trac control for good! We should trade cars...lol

To (attempt to) answer your question, it sounds like it might be a burnt fuse issue.

A long list of issues - some cheap to fix, some not so cheap - can cause the VSC warning and VSC to turn off. Many of the issues seem unrelated to VSC -- maybe the warning comes on just to get our attention. The first step is to see if there are any stored error codes.

I suppose you could reset the VSC and see if the warning light comes on again. The procedure for resetting the VSC on an LS430 with a jumper wire has been posted on this forum in the past.

The previous owner of my car told me of the traction control off light coming on and he took the car to Lexus. They found the timing belt was slightly off and they had to remove and reinstall it. End of problem.

vsc off light warning is like so random, so many possibilities but it disables abs/vsc/and laser cruise control when it happens. hope u get it fixed. dealership to check it out is best bet.

Techstream. Or OBD scanner with ABS and other supported module. There is really no other way to know what's going on unless you check the DTC. If you have access to Techstream, try to begin with full Health Check.

Local auto repair shops may offer to quickly do electronic diagnostic for a reasonable fee ($20 and more).

I would replace EVAP rubber hoses and clean the valve with WD-40.

My LS 430UL VSC light came on yesterday when I was driving fast while entering highway, a day before was I was experiencing slight loss of power so I had to turn on ECT power button, i felt like it still missed the oomph it used to.3 days prior to that I had taken to dealer who told me that front air shocks were bad and leaking into alternator, but he did not give the impression of urgency. Now I am to replace two front and two back air shocks and remedy the VSC. I am thinking of taking it to either a Toyota dealer or a repair shop that has experience with fixing Lexus. I looked up the threads for air shocks and either i) I will try to get the air shocks from UAE warehouse or ii) Arnott's new air shocks or iii) replace with coil, in order of my preference, have mechanic do all of the above.

Does that sound like a reasonable way to go about ? Is there easier way to find non-dealer lexus specialist shops? I am in Hicksville, NY.
Thanks

Mechanic said VSC light was on due to mass air control sensor bad, replaced it light gone, oomph back, but mileage dropped.
Now looking to replace air struts, amazon (3rd party) is selling genuine lexus part for $900 while the dealer is quoting $1800, ebay, megazip.net all are around $900, I don't know what is the deal here, why are they cheaper, hope they not the QC failed parts. Any thoughts, experiences?
Thanks
