Speed and degree of LS430 AFS
Here is a video of 09 Lincoln MKS that's equipped with AFS headlights and at the end of that video you can see how fast AFS system moves on that vehicle. How come LS430 AFS movement is barely noticeable?

the system in the Video above is 1,000 times more dynamic than the Lexus AFS. In my car, the lights will pivot when i turn the wheel more than x degrees. I'd say somewhere between 90 and 120 degrees from center the light will move. So pulling into a parking space and wiggling the wheel will not change the AFS position. If it does, it moves very slightly.

The AFS is dependent on vehicle speed - stopped it won't do anything, and the sweep speed and amount go up with your speed. I like it, though Lincoln's system may be better yet, couldn't say without driving one. But the LS's headlight throw is indeed crazy-wide even without it.

I reckon the 430 AFS is great. I see the lights move every night as I drive home from work. Maybe those of you that can't see the beam sweep to the sides are either going too slowly,or don't turn corners much.
Driving in the hilly area that I live in with the many steep, sweeping corners the AFS works brilliantly, clearly lighting up the whole road. My previous cars with conventional fixed lights paled in comparison. It's a good feature IMHO.

In a large metropolis where the streets and freeways are always lit up, flat and with almost no curves, and there are always other cars even at night, you may never recognize this feature.

The LS430's only operates I believe above 17 mph, not on a standstill. The Caddy's does seem to react faster and having it turn from a standstill is a nice plus, but like other's have said, the LS430's lights have a pretty wide spread.
I've taken the LS into pitch dark mountain roads and the AFS does help to illuminate angles that I don't usually see in my RX (or MDX).
