I am referring to the E60 5 series. That's the cars I initially wanted before I stumbled across this site and saw everyone modding the 2GS, which at the time was hot(still is ) I have always like midsize sedans. I know I could probably get a 7 series for almost the same amount, but I really don't see myself in that car.

Hey KillerGS4, how faster was the 545i compared to the GS4 you previously had? Also, how does it compare to the new GS you now have, acceleration wise.

Bump. How Fast is a 550i compared to an LS? Sorry if this sounds like a random question

Should be faster. The 5 should be a bit lighter with 70 more hp (360 vs 290), should do 0-60 in the low to mid 5s (as opposed to the LS which does it high 5s to low 6s).

The 550i is definitely a fast car, but the current model is actually quite a bit heavier than the LS430. A chunk of HP is needed just to overcome that. Too much weight is never your friend.

A great website for comparing factory specs is www.vehix.com. On the bottom right corner of the page, there is an option to compare vehicles.

Stop posting here and go do the most important thing! JK of course. But seriously, you can read every little article on these cars, but you will never know which is right for you (or indeed if any of these are right for you) if you don't drive them!

well ive owned niether an ls430 or a bmw of any sort but it is common knowledge that lexus's are better built and more reliable the bmw's.

BMW's are notorious for being in for repairs of one kind or another and they are not cheat to repair.

there is a reason that 7 series bimmers are going for so cheap---theyre too costly to maintain--plain and simple.

I for one HATE car problems and breakdowns.

get the ls430 and dont look back---you will be glad you did

The pleasure of trouble free driving is worth its weight in gold. Everything else fades away after the initial thrill.
