Rubber Hoses 2001 ls430
Hey guys,
had a quick question.. right now i have a 01 ls430 with roughtly 192,xxx on the clock... a couple of the hoses have hardened and cracked (mainly the tubes going to the intake).
So here's my question, other than replacing the cracked and worn lines, should i replace the rest of the vacuum lines? I'm not particularly sure of how many lines there are to replace but do u guys think it would be worth it? I am looking to keep the car for at least another year.
Also is there any other maintenance issues i should worry about? I think the water pump was recently done(150k), new master brake cylinder, timing belt, and oil changes (every 8-9k)
Thanks in advance!

Have you registered as the owner of the car on lexus.com and verified the service history (at least what was done at the dealership)? "Thinking" the water pump and timing belt were done is not the safest method.

If you are only going to run it one more year you have to decide if it is economically worth it to spend $$ you are never going to get back to do any more repairs or maint. Its very likely to make it one more year if you do nothing. Instead take the money you would have spent on Maint for this old car and add to savings for the new car in a year.
However if you want to drive it 3-5 more years then yes I'd replace any aging/oxidized/cracked looking hoses and belts.

i haven't checked lexus.com, but will get around to it. I've seen the work orders/receipts and know the owner personally so its not too much of an issue. most likely i will drive this car til it goes down for the count so replacing the hoses would be in my best interest.
i think i worded my question a bit funny at the beginning but i am wondering if any 200k+ mile ls430's swapped out any of their hoses/belts. If so, which ones should did they do and is there anything else i should pay attention to?
