Default Anyone here close to 300k miles on the LS430?

I wonder if the quality went down from the older LS. My buddy bought a 92 LS400 with 270k from an auction back in 03 or so.He was claiming it was the original engine and tranny. The driver seat wouldnt recline over a certain point which was weird. It made me sit very upright compared to my regular stance ..lol...He drove it until 350k miles. I remember he had to change all 4 suspension air bags in it. The engine and tranny were still smooth........even when he retired it

I also plan on driving mine until something breaks that requires a lot of money to fix. Currently 87,300km on it. Both the Lexus service manager and the parts manager agreed it should last to at least 500,000km if regular maintenance is performed.

holy smokes... that's 50K average. Which means most likely a lot of smooth highway driving so 300K really isn't that bad. I don't see many '03+ LS's going to 300K yet. I can see possibly the '01 hitting there.

I think overall, the LS are not daily work horses for owners.

I intend mine to be. In the 8 months since I put mine into daily-driver service I've put on 15K miles. I suspect the mileage will be a bit lower during the winter months as I'll drive the Subie on snowy days. I'll probably average 20K per year on the LS430. I expect to be able to drive it for 10 years at that rate.

The LS430 would make a great addition to any "Car Service" if the gas mileage was not an issue.

I have 28k mi right now so I got a long way to go. Very excited to see how she holds up. I am a college student, so this is my only car. However, I really only drive every other day to go out and get some food (but I make sure it's a fun drive). I seriously plan on keeping the car till it just doesn't make any more sense to (when maintenance becomes a frequent issue). Yes, the car is a flagship model with more electronics, but I really think it's as durable as any Camary or Accord and won't go wrong for a long long time.

Closing in on 200K... still running like a champ, and as powerful as ever.
