so i have seen the question once or twice of what is the best fitting wheel and tire combo for our cars,, well i believe i have a somewhat arguable answer. i do realize that you could add a bunch of negative camber, run a super stretched rear tire, or even pull your fenders but here is my setup and soon i will add some pics of the flushness but believe me it is flush.

front wheels are 20x9 offset +30 with 225x35x20 tire (a 245x35x20 would also work fine) with a 5mm spacer; rear is 20x10.5 offset +29 (4" lip) 275x30x20 tire. i have my rear fenders shaved and i also have the 5mm shorter than stock rear lateral arms in order to reduce negative camber,, my rear camber is now -1.6 degrees on the rear right and -2 degrees on the rear left (still trying to figure this one out).

my rear tire is tucking about half an inch and there is about 4mm of space between the wheel and fender at like 12 o'clock. i plan to go a little lower next year (after winter) but presently i scrape slightly on the inside fender liner when going over big dips. i scrape the inside fender liner (its like a fibery plastic material, not metal) a little more when me (150) and my friend (200++) sat in the rear seat while someone else drove when going over dips in the road. since its just the fender liner i'm not too concerned with it but i am going to figure out something to fix this in the coming days.

so in my opinion this is the biggest setup that you can safely run on an 04-06 ls430. now if you went more aggressive on the negative camber by 5mm shorter than stock control arms a stretched rear tire and a pulled fender than you could obviously go more aggressive

this yellow rim was on a yellow lambo 2 weekends back,, the car wasn't tuckin or even lowered at all. i know some people don't want to lower their car but sometimes adding just wheels to a stock height car doesn't do it many favors in my opinion. forgot to take a pic of the whole car but there is the rim


i'm going to be changing out the red trafficstar caps to silver soon so if anyone wants some red ones hit me up. also the car rides real nice right now which is something i was a little worried about earlier but its has a mean comfortable sporty ride to it right now that i am very pleased with.

haha semi stretch is prolly a good description ^ ^ ^ so is this considered poke' or flush or what?? would it look better lower or is this a good height? originally i had a 245x35x20 on the rear and the stretch popped the bead or seal while going 80 down the highway... yeah... not fun.... but luckily there was zero damage to anything.

Wheels look good. I generally like custom wheel setups that show off the calipers and rotors especially if they are beefy looking pieces. Are there kits to put in bigger rotors? A bigger rotor probably requires different calipers also. JMHO but the big open wheels make the factory rotors look somewhat dinky.

i actually thought our LS's actually had some pretty big rotors and calipers stock however there are kits but those are like 4k+,, i have many other things to spend upwards of 5k on before doing bigger brakes on this LS. i do love the look of a true bbk though just can't justify that kind of dough on a DD non show car at the moment.

Your pictures look great. I am in the minority, I know, but when I see extremely wide wheels that are so wide they need to be "tilted" to get under the wheel well, it looks like crap to me.

It surprises me a bit that very few guys do this "tilted" wheel set-up to their LS, but seem to just love it when others do it. Maybe its done only to show cars, not ones that actually drive evry day ?

By the way .... your V8 emblems have grown on me. Not sure I like them on the side of the car..... but are they a Toyota/Lexus part ? What car /model are they from ?

I would probably just paint the calipers and maybe think about getting some drilled slotted rotors.....

Here's a pic I took of a teammates car...good example of what you like w/ the extreme camber. Oh and this is his daily driver and he rides that low all day.

i went through 2 sets of drilled/ slotted rotors on my old gs400 and in my opinion they are garbage,, they are only for show to me, not for actual use and functionality. maybe i was just unlucky and had 2 bad sets but they both warped in a mater of weeks, had them resurfaced and then ultimately replaced. i ended up going to a blank brembo vented setup and it had all the stopping power of the fancy looking rotors and even more strength.

painting the calipers is on the list of things to do. anyone good at this in the local area???

don't get me wrong,, i like looking at negative camber, even on my own car, but i drive over 2k miles a month and it is not very practical to me. i do like the looks of it though.
