I removed the little roof antenna, but have not noticed any difference...

Actually, I wonder if you could put 195 tires on the vehicle and how much it would increase the MPG.

Throw the m-i-l out of the car and you might gain some more mpg.

My mileage stinks... a lot of stop and go traffic but to the earlier points... I didn't buy this for the mileage. I bought it for the LUXO!!! Good luck!

I get about 19mpg driving conservative, worst is 15mpg. I am running on 20's. Even on a long freeway trip, best is about 25mpg.

Like someone mentioned above, difference in cost for a whole tank is about $5-7. I might as well drive it how I like it vs gently to save gas

Alright, just came back from my Sundusky, Ohio trip and can report on my MPG. The trip was 524mi one way. Put in a full tank before going, stopped twice on the way, caught some traffic due to road construction and mainly drove 75mph on cruise. Gas light went on at 475mi and at about 480 I put in 19.8 Galons of Super. Exactly the same on the way back. So it's really possible to get 500 on the tank in my car and even more with stock rims and tires.

The LS430 isa heavy V8 dream car. Dont get it to save gas, it wont.

Have you thought about insurance ? That can be $$$.

Hey guys, I have an 04 LS430 and I just wanted to chime in as I purchased my vehicle from Houston, TX and drove it back to where I live in Tampa, FL.

I was shocked that the car actually went just over 600miles before needing a refuel. I only had to stop and fill the tank one time and still had driving around gas left when I made it back. Total trip was roughly 980 miles.

I then drove the car to St. Louis a few months later and again the same thing, over 600 miles per tank and only had to stop for fuel once. I drove the speed limit +9 the entire way mainly cruise control on each trip.

Driving around the city I do not even come close this number.

I believe your mileage since my 2004 LS430 get a easy 28MPG cruising at 70MPH as long as you go easy on the pedal. I calculated about 588 miles on my take before filling up. Great fuel economy in such a big car.

I routinely get 27 mpg on long trips at apprx 70-75mph. Amazing mileage for such a big car.

Also watch out using with regular cruise control - the LS rolls so well that it will speed up several MPH on any mild downhill grades and you will get caught in a speed trap (like I did) unless you are watching for the speedo closely - don't rely on the cruise control to slow you down.

My mileage went up with Goodyears now 24.5 ish MPG is norm at fill up from 23.6 ish(readout on dash). Got 30.4 from Milw to Appleton 100 miles this weekend. City driving sucks so it is a perfect car for me in dairyland.

Who really cares what the actual gas mileage is on this car? You'd be foolish to try to milk the distance on a tank of gas and actually run out of gas. Stupid. I also think it would be a bit foolish to try to drive 500 miles or so non-stop. What's the purpose? And why take a risk. This car is all for enjoyment, not taking foolish risks.

Just enjoy the car for what it is. It's spectacular and needs no rationalization to prove it.

I routinely see in the neighborhood of 450 to 500 miles on a tank of gas. On a long trip the tank often out-runs the bladder....lol

Using a high MPG average multiplied by actual fuel tank capacity gets you this result -

27 mpg X 21 gal fuel = 567 miles.

That would be seriously pushing it - draining the tank and running fuel pump with no fuel is a bad idea - fuel pump is cooled by the fuel.

I think I have gone near 450-500 miles before on long vacation drives but usually there is no reason to do so and as previously posted usually need for bio break and stand up and stretch happens earlier than need to refill tank so we do both at same time.

I just took a trip with my 2002 LS430 from the Chicago area to Navarre Beach FL. (still here in FL.) and I got 27.3 miles per gallon till I got south of Birmingham AL. and it went down to 26.2 from there to Navarre Beach. I used the cruise and averaged between 70 - 85 MPH. I never let it get down too close to empty because we stopped before then but using that mileage I should get well over 500 miles per tank.
