Default Tail Lights Stay On

So my daughter just pointed out that the tail lights on the Lexus are staying on in the garage.

Went out to turn them off and nothing works... These aren't the full tail lights like brake lights, these are the low intensity tail lights....almost seem like courtesy lights. They are the only lights on the entire car that are on and won't turn off.

Any ideas?

And no...they don't go off over time...they've been on for over an hour now.

Did you make sure that ALL doors and trunk closed? Because I noticed that my lights dont turn off if something is not closed all the way.

What year?

My 2003 Ls430 doesn't do this, but for my BMW, if I leave a door ajar or my gas tank door open, the tail light on the particular side will come on.

That was the first thing I did. I don't understand it. Those are the only lights remaining on. They are a dull glow in the dark garage. My wife took the car to work today so I will look at it again tonight. The battery didn't drain overnight.

Hmm... fuel door? I'll check that next, but I think there is already a sensor for that.

2004 UL..

I'll have to post a picture of it tonight.
