Smile Wiring the LS430 for a radar detecter via mirror

I've used the invisicord twice; once on a Toyota Avalon and once on a 2006 LS430 U/L. They are easy to install and work great. I wired the LS through the inner rear view mirror assembly. The instructions for testing/replacing the mirror (page 70-44 to 70-46) in the factory maintenance manual are clear and simple. I ran the wire down through the sunglass storage compartment because this allows me to roll the wire into the compartment and close the door to make it completely undetectable. I mount both of my detectors on the driver's sunvisor rather than under the mirror. This makes them virtually unnoticeable from outside the car and allows me to keep them there all of the time Leaving one hanging from your mirror invites someone to break one of your expensive windows. My Escort Redline works great from the visor; I've picked up Ka band from as far as 7 miles and it catches POP and lazer fine. My Escort 9500IX has GPS and it has difficuty finding satellites at times, stuck up against the visor, but it finds radar and lazer almost as good as the Redline. It's GPS and database are good at warning against speed camera and redlight camera locations. If you hang one on your mirror, every cop going by can see it, and some will take it personal. It's also idea to run them "dark" so you don't have an obvious detecter. The Redline is a stealth machine; it cannot be detected by the police radar detecter detecters, not even the new Specter IV. It is simpy invisible. Good Luck.

Radrar units usually need to get under 1/2 mile from the oncoming car to be most usable in court and effective correct?

Is it just me or is this statement a bit contradictory? You think that using the radar/laser detector is morally wrong yet you state you prefer to speed if you choose. Well isn't THAT pretty much the same moral issue??? If you prefer/choose to speed you are making a conscience decision to break the law..maybe it's just me

hanging on ther nirror is going to be obvious from beheind with the lights bright. I just don't see alot of cops catching up to me speeding or not that I do not notice. I guess I like the ability to toss it under the seat if I suspect I am going to be pulled over. Can the invisimounts be wired with like plugs to unpug?

Well, I simply had my stereo shop hard wire my unit to the cigarette lighter, keep the suction cups and call it a day... Works good, at least I have the wire hidden now. The detector sits right below the mirror which for now is fine, it's not too bad of a spot if looking from behind the car. Let's keep each other posted if someone finds a solution to the mount!

I am bringing this thread back from the dead to see if anyone has an update. I have a blendmount that I took out of my Challenger, and it will NOT work. I am considering machining my own adapters to make it work, but that is a BIG project, and I dont have a lot of time for it. Would love a bolt up solution...
