I recently bought an 04 LS 430 UL. I've been doing research on here as to how I can lower the car but I am unfamiliar with the methods. What exactly is a ss kit? Where can I buy the Data system controller? Will I have to modify the actual suspension of the car for any of the methods to work? The look I am going for is a super low ride. Will running the car very low ruin the air suspension or cause adverse problems with wheel rub? I want to put some 20s on it. How wide can they be before I start rubbing? Anyone familiar with this if you could shoot me some pointer they will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

for a UL your best bet is to get the controller and an ss kit. i have an ss kit for sale right now (PM me about it), but the controller is available from L-tuned (website) for like 700$ or so right now. you can find the controllers used for less in the classified section (i just sold mine there).

the controller will mess with the suspension some but the ss kit will not. the ss kit is essentially like spacers for your wheels except they push the wheels up in this case and allow it to sit 1.2 inches lower all the way around.

for 20's you should be good with 20x10 275x30x20 rear tire with a pretty decent offset without having to do much to the rear fenders.

Agreed with sojah the SS kit would be optimal. However, if you don't want to mount any physical add on's, the easiest would be using the ASC controller.

A cheap method would be to adjust the sensor rods but its limited on how low you can go.

Get the correct offset for the wheels and you should be fine.

agreed with both sojah and airtime. the air controller is just plug and play, you do not have to mess with your suspension.

So an ss kit tricks the ecu into thinking the car is higher and the suspension compensates??

How low will the air controller take the car. I see people here say they have both. Does it work in combination to get the car lower?

If you install this kit, you can lower the car even more than what the controller will offer, literally dropped on the ground. Looking at your inexperience, I would suggest just the ASC controller itself would be a good starting point, then if you feel you want it even lower, then the SS kit would be the next step. The SS kit would be great for those who is not riding on air as it drops the car without going to coilovers, and it keeps the geometry of the car as it was normal without any neg cambers.

the ss kit is like a big spacer and makes the wheel hub assembly thing just stick up 1.2 inches higher into the wheel well, this makes the mounting point of the wheel 1.2 inches higher and there fore allows the car to be 1.2 inches lower to the ground.

do you know how wheel spacers work? you know how they make the wheels stick out farther away from the car right...? well the ss kit is similar but makes the wheel knuckle hub thing (not sure of the actual term, but the part where the wheel mounts to the car) 1.2 inches higher (towards the top of the wheel well)... does this make any more sense?
