its time for new tires and I want to know which one is better? Michelin for Bridgestone?

I prefer Michelins. Do a search for Primacy. Every tire discussion includes at least a few mentions of that Michelin tire.

i went to discount tire today and was going to buy some michelins but he told me this new Bridgestone is alot better than the michelin all season. He told me to test it out for 2 days and if i dont like it i can trade them back in for the michelins. The Bridgestone tires are potenza RE960AS

I vote Bridgestone. In my experience, the Bridgestone (any model) tires seem to last longer and they perform well in wet weather. I've personally thought that Michelins have always been overpriced and have poor treadwear. Just my two cents. But really, you can't go wrong with either. They are arguably the leaders in the tire world.

Primacy's are great; I have them on both my LS430 and 7 Series BMW.

All season or summer?

I would prefer the Michellins for all-season, but Bridgestone for summer. I actually just bought some 18" Dunlap Sport Maxx tires. I've had them on my LS for about 1 week. Quiet and comfortable ride. Happy with the purchase.

I have the Michelin Primacy MXV4 H-rated on my LS430. I like them.

We got some General Altimax on the LS rides very quiet and smooth, great rain traction and excellent wear.

You beat me to it. I've put about 5000 miles on my Altimax HP's and for the money, these tires are fantastic. Second only to the Primacy in the tirerack survey, for WAY less money.

Man, no love for the Continentals... I have, when bought car 1.5 years ago, Contipro sports on the car. Thus far, quiet and good on rain. Have not tried on snow except a light dusting and it wasnt' too good. With this said, once new tire time comes, probably would shop around and look into Primacy.

For my RX, the Michelin Cross Terrains were far superior to the junky Bridestone OEM tires I ended up getting now. Cross Terrains excellent in snow, Bridgestone not so good.

That tire guy sounds like he may have a financial incentive to sell you the Bridgestones over the Michelins.
I vote for the Primacy MXV4 also. Have over 30K on them now still quiet with good tread wear too.

On two different vehicles, Michelin has failed to stand behind their warranties. No Michelins ever again for us.
That problems happened on two separate vehicles (one car, one RV) leads me to believe the the French company has not much quality going for it. That they don't honor their warranties speaks for itself.
