Does Anyone Know What This Is?
Just got my 05 a few weeks ago and this was just lying around on the rear deck. Its a plastic/filament type cable that's around 1/8" in diameter. Its connected to the top of the rear sunshade and goes up and down with it. I taped it up for the moment until I could find out what to do with it.
Thanks

mine has short ones on each end,, think they were some form of pull device to enter the shade into the top track,, always thought the track was installed prior the shade,, mine are about 2 inches in length,,
would cut it off but leave a stub,,

When I was shopping for my LS430 I checked the service history at Lexus.com and there was an entry about "tucking in a wire". I inquired further and was told that some wire on my rear sunshade was a concern for the previous owner. I think it was this same one. And the technicians simply "tucking it in" makes me think it's not a serious issue if the shade is working properly.
I just went and checked my shade to see if I could see if it was out but I think mine might have been cut down or tucked into the port somehow. I think CG is right about their possible intended purpose. If it's on the top of the shade and the shade is working fine I would guess it's excess length. Was the shade perhaps recently installed?

Hi,
The shade came from the factory. Unless there was some work done on it recently that I'm unaware of, its probably been like this since new. So I cut it off and everything seems okay now...
Thanks for the assistance!
