Default M45 versus LS430 2006

How are they going to ride different. the M45 has a 5 speed, will probably handle better but how much stiffer will it ride? i am thinking of not getting the Sport package as the 19 inch low pro wheels will not fair well in the snow when i ski alot and will be even stiffer?

The styling, IMO is no better than the 2nd gen GS let alone the 3rd gen. It is spacious for its class of car, that is b/c the car is 58 inches tall, TALLER than a LS!
You had a LS 430 and a GS. Your used to Lexus craftmanship. The M45 is a FM platform car stretched. In other words, a 350Z to G35 to M45. It makes for a sporty car but Carlos Ghosen has made it clear he is only concerned about PROFIT and not building the best anything. If you go to the forums, rattles, seats are not working the usual Nissan problems are glaring already. The M45 also WEIGHS MORE than a LS 430!! Fuel economy is worse. It is Nissan at its best, Power and Flash as its selling points. But its very backwards in thinking, Lexus would never come close to producing something so 1-way in execution.

Now don't get me wrong, its a very good car. The car magazines love it. Its a huge improvement over the preivous M Infiniti. It is a good drive, it has the best interior of any Infiniti and its a great car to own/drive.

The LS is simply of the the GRANDEST cars in the world, for ANY price. Its that good. Its now world-reknowed for providing luxury and the Lexus ride/quality etc. And its no slouch either, now doing 0-60 in under 6 seconds due to the new 6 speed tranny.

The M45 Sport is great for those that don't mod. Stock, its a very sporty sedan.

I don't know how either will ride but you will definitely want winter tires and wheels. Preferrably the smallest diameter wheel possible.

I drove the M45 and it had to much steering and road niose issues. Handling was like nervous unlike my LS which drives it self handles a little better but the engine was not as refined and quiet. I drove a 2009 MKZ and di not like it as mcuh as mine and tiurned around just out of the parking lot.

I used to have an 04 M45 30k miles with the 5speed. Although they updated the styling a bit for 06, I can say one thing about the engine. I was having oil consumption problems which was described as "normal". I didn't think a quart of oil per 3000 miles was normal. The ride was sportier then my LS, and it was probably a tad quick through the first two gears, to sixty or so, but then it fell on its face due to gearing. But after a random "dealership trip / test drive day" I fell in love with the LS. One of the big things was that the NAV wasn't touch screen in the M45, and the ride was pretty rough. Also the turn radius if I remember correctly was huge due to the long and skinny platform. Anyway that is my 2cents seeing as i've owned both. The LS is still in the driveway after 3 years of perfect CPO ownership! I do not see myself going back to an M anytime soon....ummm we'll just say ever. Hope this helps, but in the end its your money so buy what you want! Good luck!
