Default Tires quiet after rotation?

Just had service on my "06 Ls430 and had tires rotated. Tires are Dunlop 18". The oddest thing is that the road noise I had before when changing from one type of Asphalt road to another is gone.?? Before when going from old Asphalt to New asphalt there was a noticeable change in road noise. Unreal. Anyone have similar experience?

After only a rotation? Maybe your fronts were really low on tread and when you moved the back to front, they were much quieter. I've never had just a rotation smooth out the road...

I've checked all the tires, and can find nothing wrong with any of them. Good depth in the tread and no wires showing,, no bulge in the sidewalls. Might be some thread seperation, but wow is it so much different. Bought my son some new Primacies for his Avalon, and was about to do the same for the Lexus,,, Now I have the smoother and quieter ride that seemed to be missing before... I wonder if the dealer changed sides with the tires, instead of just going front to back, and keeping tires going the same direction?? Only answer I can think that would make that kind of difference.

Or maybe they are unidirectional tires and one or more were positioned in the wrong direction, and now they are correctly oriented?

Had my tires rotated before and and stop drifting to one side. One of the tire has uneven wear.

Yes, the tires could have been unidirectional and installed on the car wrong. You lose grip and the tires will be significantly louder. Some tires work both directions though.
