Default Tires Question

I recently purchased my LS430. I need new tires. They currently have MXV4 235/60/R16.

I see the stock tires are 225/55/16. I'm trying to figure if I should stay with the 235 or get the 225.

Wow. Crazy that I entered your dimensions with the handy calculator (LOVE IT!) that Grand4LS submitted on another tire thread, but...with your non-stock dimensions, this calculator gives a WARNING message suggesting to stay within 3% of the OEM diameter.

The 235/60-16's that you have not only flag the calculator with that warning, but also says your speedometer will show your speed 5% too slow. In other words, if you were actually travelling 60mph, your speedo would show 56.9mph. (sorry officer! i didn't know my speedo was inaccurate!) lol

I personally would go back to the OEM tire size. I know there are a lot of choices with that size because it's the same size as my 02 Acura RL.

Check out the calculator here.... http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit

You might even see a very slight increase in your fuel economy also, as your tire would be 10mm less wide
