Default New Nav 09.1 Update

Ok, the new nav disc is now available and Sewell is offering a rebate too.

http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...d=203904&all=Y

It will be interesting to see if the override feature will be available on it.

Who's going to check it out first??

So $150 (after rebate) is the deal? Not bad for a full update. Aren't they usuallyl like $299 or so from dealer?

I see the rebate form only has check for version 8.1 though.

As long as you order a Gen 4 version, you should be good to go,

If the old LS nav disk sells anything like an Acura's nav disk on Ebay, you should be able to sell it for at least 2x as much as Sewell is offering on their rebate.

Each year that I upgraded the nav in my RL, I would sell the old disk on Ebay..and I never sold one for less than $105. I did that 3 years in a row.

If I upgrade my Lex to 9.1, I'm sure someone HERE would buy my 8.1 for at least $100, right?

The $50 rebate applies only when you ship the previous version back (i.e. 8.1).

Do you mean system version or disc version? If you know the unit was never replaced, '01-'03 was Gen.3. '04-'06 was Gen.4.

If you meant disc, version, then 9.0 will be latest, but I think you might do best getting last year's 8.1 and saving about $100.

I'm in the same boat. It looks like 01 is the gen 2/3 disk.

Does anyone remember/have the link to check the new disc version to see how it may have changed in a specific area? There have been a bunch of new roads built here in the past few years that did not show up on version 8.
Thanks

You can find detail changes for the new version.

Log on to lexus.com, select owners, select mylexus, select vehicle resources, select Navigation Maps, a Table will display, select your Gen, and you will then be able to scroll to the specific area, state, city, etc for detail listing of changes.

Thanks...I had done that part of it...I know there was somewhere that actually had a map sample, where you could literally enter an area and see the map changes (or not) for that area. That is how I determined not to upgrade to Rev 8. Perhaps it is not availble for this Rev yet. Unless someone else knows......

currently it doesn't seem clear whether the changelog is for version 7->8 or version 8->9
