Default sunroof cover rattle noise

The sunroof cover makes a faint rattle noise. When it is making this noise, it is usually open (still can't see the sky) by about a centimeter. When I close it, the noise goes away. But the process repeats itself over and over every commute.

Anyone know of a fix for this?

Is the sunroof completely closed when closing the internal cover? If the sunroof is partially open or slightly cracked, it is possible that air rushing out of the cabin through the tiny opening of the cover will cause pulsations resulting in a rattling noise.

The window is pretty much always closed. And I have tried opening and closing it to make sure.

Don't get me started on the automotive sunroof - that rattling, leaking, shattering, sticking, headroom-robbing excuse of an option. Other than those details, I suppose it's OK. Given the choice, I'll pick a car without a sunroof. (It was tough finding a well-optioned 06 SRX without the infamous ultraview sunroof, but I did.) I guess I don't have that choice with the LS430, though.

Hey caddyowner, judging from your list of UAW built cars, it seems you're finally going to purchase a quality built car. I've never had an issue with my sunroof, I'm on my fifth Lexus, welcome to CL

Yes, as I tell my GM and Ford owning friends, I'm considering going to the "Dark side." Surprisingly, most everyone thinks the LS430 is a great choice.

I tell all my friends it's not the dark side, Buddists and Schintos just build better cars and don't worry about the union vs management stuff. They are actually satisfied employees glad to have employment and want to build quality products !! Welcome to CL

x2. Same problem here. Sunroof is CLOSED (never use it), but it's the headliner cover that has a faint rattle. I think it's coming from right above the driver's head. It does it every morning after the car has cooled off, but in the afternoon when it's a burning hot 117F inside, it's gone. If I open the headliner cover, the sound disappears. If I close it loosely, I hear it. If I push the cover as far forward as it will go, it disappears, but then reappears as soon as you hit the first bump.
