Default Brought My Onxy Blue LS430 Home Today

Well, my car is now home.

It is a nice replacement to my 2000 LS400, which I missed terribly.

Here is the 2004 LS430, parked in her new home.

It goes back on Tuesday to get a scratch on the bumper blown in, and the parking sensors touched up. Other than that, its a very clean car.

I'm having fun discovering all the gadgets that my previous LS400 didn't have.

What a beautiful driving experience, so much more refined than my ES300.

Congrats on the blue. It does look like black at night

CL, since you can see that it doesn't have the air suspension button

It's a weird combo.
Pretty much a CL without Nav.
It has the door closers, radar cruise, power sunshade, rear seat warmers, "suede-like" headliner, adaptive headlights, etc.

It drives very well ... although, I'm sure I'll have to invest in 4 Michelin Ice 2's for next winter.

Thanks, folks, its nice to back in an LS.

One quick question.
I know the car has no tranny dipstick, and the fluid should last the life of the car.

Still, is there any way to check the colour or smell of the fluid?

Congrats!
I just got my '05 LS430 last month so I know what you mean about the gadgets. I still have a 2nd generation LS400.
I think the gadget that I like best on the LS430 is the cruise. I use mine (laser) most of the time and it is a wakeup when it kicks off the first time when some rain hits the windshield; beeps and a red triangle with explanation point on the display.
Rain sensing wipers are also particularly nice.
The trunk is 50% larger on the 430 without increasing outside dimensions.
Great car. I hope it is as maintenace free as the 400 has been.

Congrats on your purchase. No nav on your CL eh? I remember reading somewhere that that was typical for Canadian bound cars, so it isn't impossible....

Yeah, when it starts leaking...

The unit is sealed, no way you'll smell it or see it until it start bursting a seal. Unless of course, you want to drop the pan. I'm sure there is still a tranny pan per say.

Thanks for the definitive answer on the tranny fluid.
I won't worry about it ... the car drives so silent and pure, I'll just
enjoy the drivetrain.

I really don't miss the Nav ... I have a good Magellan widescreen for those rare times I need it. I work just a few blocks from my home, and drive around 5k per year.
I kind of like seeing all my controls at a quick glance.
