I agree - Nav is more trouble than it's worth to me because I almost never go any place that I don't already know how to get there. The main reason I went with the Nav version on mine was to get the ML system, which IMO does sound a good bit better than the standard system. Well, and the back-up camera isn't bad either. Otherwise I'd rather not have the Nav because of the annoying button punching that's required to do things...

Congrats and welcome to the LS430 section.... Nice looking car man...clean!! One thing I know about Lexus, they never seem to stop amazing me... Never knew they made a car with all the features like CL would have and no Navigation.

One of the main reasons I went with the Nav is cause of factory Bluetooth and back up camera!

I had the rear bumper blown in today, and they touched up the sensors.
They look great, big improvement.
I also had the rims refinished to cure some curb rash and corrosion.
On all 3 Lexus products I've owned, I've seen corrosion on the rims.
I could've bought aftermarket rims for less than the cost of refinishing, but
I like to keep my cars stock.

What do you run in the winter?
I'm guessing you run with 4 snows, and if so, what type?
Do you switch to winter steelies?

BTW, I deal with Steve Izeman at Ken Shaw ... great guy.

I am actually running the factory chrome 17" wheels in the winter since it was hard to find rims to clear the 4 piston factory calipers. I have a set of 20's on order from Japan. What I have been doing with the chrome in the winter is washing the salt off frequently and keeping a good coat of Wheel Wax on them monthly. After this bad winter we had the chrome has no issues and looks great. The Michelin X-Ice worked great as a winter tire I highly recommend.

I've dealt with David Whyte for 10 years now. Fred Pauls who was working there was also great and I think he is at NorthWest Lexus in Brampton now. Shameer is a great service manager at Ken Shaw. I am looking at a Wald body kit for the LS so I might repaint the whole front end and wrap it with 3M film.

If you don't mind can you post up front end pics of the paint work they did on the sensors.

Thanks in advance

Ken

awesome ride tcbted.. you will definitely enjoy the 430 more than the 400...but as 2SAvvy said, Good to see more Canadians esp people from Toronto on this board!! Welcome!!

so did the dealership do the touch ups on the sensors with touch up paint? did they do a good job? anyway you can take a picture to show us? i'm having the same problem as you and 2Savvy, both the front sensors paints gone.

I agree, its nice to see a few other Canadians on this site.

I should've been clearer on the work done.
The previous owner had scraped something on the driver's rear fender, down low behind the tire. It also had a few hairline cracks in the bumper cover, probably a result of the bump.
I had the dealer bring in a mobile colour company.
They sanded, smoothed, painted and clear coated the affected areas, including rear sensors.
They handed me a jar with some paint and clear mixed in.
I touched up the front two sensors which had the paint flaked off.
Perhaps its due to the dark blue colour, but the results are certainly satisfactory to my eyes.
When I get a day off next week, I'll post a few pics.

Everytime I get into the car, I get a smile on my face.
It exudes quality, smoothness, and elegance.
My commute may only be 1 kilometer each way, but it has become a very nice drive
nontheless.
The birdseye maple and cream leather combo, over the onyx blue paint, reminds me
of a classic Rolls or Jag colour scheme.

My next step is to find 4 reasonably price Michelin X2 tires for the winter.
I hear they're almost as quiet as OEM rubber.

The dealer lived up to their promises. Anything I asked them to perform was done.
It's a small Mississauga store which features high end German cars, plus a few LS'.
Here is their link.
