Painted Calipers...opinions!!

I use the detail shop in the building where I work, and he uses wheel degreaser on my wheels. I have not had an issue with it messing my wheels or painted calipers up. The paint is solid bro, do four coats and if you like spray some clear on them when they are dry. I know some guys who have done that for extra protection.

quick question to all?? back in the backs i used to paint my calipers with caliper spray paint from auto zone. but when i sprayed the caliper i also paint the rotors so at the end every thing looked clean and black behind chrome wheels...now my question this paint i am about to purchase can i use it on the tip of the rotor that holds the studs???

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think you are supposed to put anything on the rotor. It is what stops the brakes push against to stop the car so if there is a coating on it, it might not stop as well. Also with the brakes pressing against it, it seems like the paint would wear down or scrape off.

Just painted my calipers today with some help from my future brother in law and his spray gun. I used the duplicolor kit but just sprayed instead of handpaint. They came of great, I'll post pics when I get back to my computer tomorrow. They were a piece of cake and I even removed the whole caliper. Red with metallic silver letters!!! Uuuggggghhhhh!!

Heres the pic of this weekends work, I really need to find my digital camera!
it started getting dark when we did the back
Like I said u can see it just enough so that it looks nice especially from the side
Side shot from far I know u cant see the calipers
It was really as easy as 1-2-3 like tee stated!!

Looks great! I think you are supposed to replace the caliper bolts if you remove them. Probably not necessary but Lexus recommends it. I think that's why the others just leave them on the car and tape them off.

thanks y'all! I literally cannot stop lookin at my car, I had my girl do multiple roll test just so I could see what they looked like with the rims movin, LOL! When I get my 06 I'm definately gonna go for a more open faced rim tho! But Betsy's still got a lot of life left, now all she needs is a new led turn signal mirrors and a front bumper cuz the lip cracked, Im so mad! Her back bumper needs to b touched up to tho.

No both side were done and the wheels were back on in like 2-3 hours. I used a paint gun so I had now need to coat it 4-5 times. I coated it 2 maybe 3 times and then added some layers of clears. The paint dries pretty quick. I did put the rear emblem on the rear paasenger side brake on a Lil to early and it kinda lifted the paint so I coulda let it dry longer but we were workin againt time. They still came out pretty good!
