Default LS430 QUESTION: Will 2003 AC'd Seats fit in a 2001?

I love my 2001 LS430 but for some reason the seats are NOT as comfortable as my old 98 LS400.

My current seats are NOT Air Conditioned. But I am looking to buy a set of used 2003 LS430 seats with AC and put them in my 2001 LS430?

Haven't found the seats but wondered if anyone knows
if they will hook up (not too mention where to get them).

I do know regular 2003 seats will work though beyond
that the dealer wasn't much help.

Thanks for any input. This forum is great!

Do you have any interest in selling them?

I have been told they will fit. Just not sure about the Air Conditioned seats and how they work as far as plugging in etc.

Im pretty sure its plug and play, as long as you have the switches for them, it'll work.

I don't think it's possible to swap the seats, the air is actually refrigerated

It doesn't magically come out cold there has to be a process to actually cool the air

The LS430 seats use a Peltier device to heat and cool the seats. It is basically a thin wafer that cools at one end and heats up at the other when a current is applied across it. Air is drawn over one end of the wafer to heat or cool it depending on the polarity of the current applied.

This is independent of the HVAC system. In order to get the seats to work properly at both heating and cooling, one would also need the control circuitry to reverse the polarity of the current across the device. Thus, in addition to the seats, the switches, the relays and the associated wire harness will also be needed.

Why go to all that trouble, the ventilated operation is almost useless in front or rear seats?
