Default Sound deadening window tint or lamination

I believe the ULs have laminated windows to help reduce additional noise. Does anyone know what's the best sound deadening window tint out there?

Thanks.

The UL's have double paned windows which is why they are more quiet. To my knowledge, window tint does not deaden sound.

If you want to reduce more outside road noise, you can use dynamat (or some alternative) on your doors. This will stop any rattles that the speakers might produce plus keep out more of the road noise.

+1 on the DynaMats. If you have the resource to remove all the interior, you can apply the mats on the floor, doors, roof to reduce sound. It does add a bit of weight to the car but it does work well. I'm sure the LS already have alot of the sprayed in sound deadening material but you can always add more.

Thanks, sounds like it might be easier for me to get the window's replaced with douple-paned glass. My guess is Lexus did do a great job already in sound deadening the panels.

When the body shop replaced mine, it was $750 for the front passenger so if you times that by 4, expensivo indeed.

maybe if you get all 4 done at the same time they'll hook you up with a discount, say $2500 instead of $3000.

Wow that is pretty expensive. I was thinking it would be $150 a corner (no labor).

Default Custom too...

Hey, the Custom Level has the double pane glass too. While test driving, drove a ML and CL back to back and the difference is very apparent. Worth the extra money for sure.

As for the original OP's questions, I don't think a thin film of tint or anything for that matter, is going to deafen sound. There just isn't enough material to reduce the vibration of sound, unless the tint is the thickness of another pane of glass...

I've found that to lower the road noise, turn the stereo up...

Unfortunately I didn't get to drive both a UL and a Ba back to back, but I believe the UL sounded quieter. It could just be the fact that I knew it was a UL too. Oh well, next time. I still probably should tint my windows though.
