FYI, most of the parts are available from Toyota, but I am missing some part numbers. If you buy from Toyota (non-lexus) you can usually get much cheaper, at least what I was able to find.

All I can say is: Well done and that's a very brave thing to attempt. I would have given it a go back in the day, but now I'd rather pay my local mechanic a few hundred bucks to do the job well. It's sure cheaper than a new motor.

Cam pulley bolt torque
When replacing the timing belt I put a 19mm socket on the large cam pulley bolt to turn it slightly to slacken the old belt just a bit so it will come off easily. However, the bolt loosened instead. I then checked the other camshaft pulley bolt and each appeared to have only about 15 lb-ft of torque. Is this correct? Shouldn't large bolts like this be tightened down more than this?

LS430 Timing Belt Parts Information
FYI...my research has uncovered that the main timing belt parts (timing belt, water pump, timing belt adjuster, timing belt idler pulleys, serpentine drive belt) used on the LS430 are the same as used on several other Toyota products: 98-07 Lexus LX470, 01-07 Toyota Sequoia, 01-07 Toyota Tundra, 98-07 Toyota Landcruiser, 98-07 GS430, that share the 4.3/4.7 L V8 (there may be more). I would source them from the best supplier/dealer at the best prices. I have been very happy buying parts from this website's recommended dealer: Sewell Lexus. (Their clear parts diagrams, low pricing, and quick delivery are hard to beat).
I have for comparison, sourced the Aisin TKT-001 timing belt kit (water pump, timing belt, idler pulleys, gaskets/orings) from Amazon and found the quality of the parts lacking. (One of the idler pulleys had play, and the water pump had sharp edges on the pulley, which might cut the timing belt). It may be possible that I had bad luck and received defective parts, or returns from another customer, I will never know.....but I returned the kit.
It is interesting to note that neither the factory or aftermarket water pump had any identifying marks to distinquish between Toyota or Aisin.
In my humble opinion, factory/oem parts are the better long term bargain, (especially on critical parts, such as the timing belt and related parts,) and I will likely never again consider aftermarket parts.
