Metal to metal.
Why do you need calipers?! And what sensors? Rotors and pads don't have be purchased from the dealership. Check your local auto parts store. Although I would buy good name brand pads if I were you. HTH

That sux but since you have to change the rotors just go on ebay and get some cross drilled & slotted rotors they go from $150-300 with pads.

Did you ignore the warning from the sensors? They're in there to alert you to a low pad thickness before it destroys the rotor. The shudder you feel when braking is probably warping or thickness variation in the rotors caused by uneven wheel torquing. If they're not significantly damaged they can be resurfaced by a competent repair shop. I'd recommend finding someone with an on-car brake lathe to refinish them, that will compensate for wheel hub runout and allow a perfectly true rotor. Save that mod money and get the brakes handled!

i herd that crossed drilled and slotted are like cheese graders, that they would shred my pads in 2 months

Since your sensors did not apparently work this time around & you are currently short on cash, why would you replace them?

I bought rotors from r1 and you can expect them to perform and last like OEM rotors. Plus you cannot beat the price for the quality you get.

You were told wrong. The worst thing that could happen is your caliper's pistons seized. In that case, you can rebuild the caliper far cheaper than buying a new set of calipers.
