I'm pretty familiar with a 2001 ls430 ucf31, but got a chance to test drive a 2002 F50 infiniti q45 the other day.......boy was it a big difference. The F50 Q45 was much quicker off the line, it was pretty quick. The suspension was also sportier, not as quiet and soft as the ls430, it was quite a bit stiffer and felt the road more. The q45 f50 supposedly does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds.

But yes, the 4.5 is stronger, with 325HP.
But the car is everyone knows

To clarify, the 5.9 # was Lexus's claims for the 04+ LS430. 01-03 was 6.3. BUT, Lexus's claim is always 0.5 seconds conservative, just look at all the IS350 and IS-F. I can feel it too, my LS430 feels quite a bit quicker then 5.9.

I don't know if the Nissan V8 is stronger, but the car sure feels slower to me. I kind of suspecting Lexus is being conservative with their HP # and Infiniti is being optimistic, or maybe the Lexus motor make more low end torque, I don't know, have to compare dyno graph. But to me, the LS430 always feels quicker then the Q45, and the GS430 smoke the M45. Have to compare weight too, from the top of my head, the GS430 is 200 lbs lighter then the M45.

I love how my LS accelerate, in a quite and quick form.

q45's are nice but no way near a LS430.....lacks a lot of flagship luxury car amenties......fully loaded maxima has the same features!!

Then again, I don't think Infiniti is even trying to compete with Lexus with the Q45. The Q45 got much less amenties and quality, but also sold at a much lower price point.

Infiniti did so bad with the Q45, they discontinued it with no replacement, now is unsure if they should get back into the same game.

Nissan is good at making sports car, their GTR ROCKS! But not so good at making luxury car.

Well in Infinitis defense, the first generation Q45 and particularly the 94-96 model was awesome, great interior, great dashboard and good motor. Very elegant. Too bad their motors threw chains like there was no tomorrow. The 2nd generation was an insult all together, and the last one is just a joke. Ugly from every angle. Very sad.

id personally get a 03-05 Q45, just personal tweaks to the interior and has a better fit and finish than the 01-03 years....plus worked some of the bugs out in the later years

The 1st generation was awesome, almost like a hotrod!

Actually all of them are not bad cars by themself, they are just not as amazing as all the Lexues.

Yeah the only impressive feature on the late model ones are the headlights, very innovative and BRIGHT!
